Kirkhill-TA combined with Custom Silicone Elastomers provide a large range of calendered and rotocured sheet material utilized for septa materials. Elastomers such as butyl, silicone, polynorbornene are combined with Teflon or Tedlar films in various thicknesses and widths where high quality and close tolerance material is required.
Kirkhill-TA offers custom formulated elastomers for medical applications and has experience with specifications, testing, and qualifications.
Specifically the silicone, Neoprene®, and EPDM Rubber compounds that meets the Federal Railroad Administration and other OEM’s specification and requirements. Kirkhill-TA rubber compounds meet the Federal Railroad Administration requirements as they pertain to rate of smoke generation (ASTM E662). Cited by the (ASTM C 542). Kirkhill-TA compounds comply with the Federal Railroad Administration requirements as they pertain to flame propagation (ASTM C 1166). Kirkhill-TA also meets OEM’s requirements pertaining to toxic gas production (SMP800C).
