  • Non-intrusive sensors that ‘look’ through the engine case to detect blades passing
  • Monitoring of blades allows continuous indication of:
    • Shaft speed
    • Change in separation between blades and the time between blades – tip timing
    • Peak amplitude of each blade passing - tip clearance
    • Missing pulses or sudden change in timing or signal amplitude – blade damage
