TREALITY® NOCTIS Soft Edge Blending
Esterline Simulation Visual Systems developed the TREALITY NOCTIS blending, the ideal blending technology for multi-channel projection based visual displays. Contrary to most state of the art blending techniques, this next generation blending is based upon a genuine neutral density technology and does not use patterned blending techniques that typically degrade blending quality because of diffraction. As such, it perfectly maintains the contrast or the resolution of the projector channels and allows matching geometry, color and brightness for any kind of projector technology.
The NOCTIS neutral density technology has been optimized to equally work well with visible and infrared light and provides excellent blending performance optimized for any time of day and for stimulated NVG applications.
The new TREALITY NOCTIS blend technology replaces the current based dithered technology. The blend transition area is generated by a digital print on glass. With true neutral density filters for true gray scale performance that can be optimized per projector channel and is perfectly suited to upgrade the older generation pattern based technology into a true gray scale technology.
The true grey-scale technology directly printed on glass allows the best of both worlds for optimal night and NVG images without impacting the brightness of day scenes.
SimCad Design Tool
The TREALITY SimCAD design tool calculates the blend transition and accurately predicts the blend quality of the multi-channel projection visual display. The calculations are based on system projector configuration, projector optical design and lens characteristics. As such we can deliver the highest quality of blend overlap and the best image performance.
