There’s a KORRY Chromalux switch or indicator to fit virtually any situation and environment, with over three dozen product lines in a range of sizes and shapes—each with many options, for thousands of possible configurations. Our most commonly ordered lines feature LED life-of-the-aircraft illumination for increased reliability and reduced maintenance costs compared to incandescent units. Selected products are also available with poke-home mounting or full LRU capability, to further simplify installation and maintenance.

For aerospace applications, Esterline's facility for KORRY products is an FAA-certified facility, with parts manufacturing authority. In addition, a number of our lines are available to the strict military performance standards of MIL-PRF-22885.

Advantages of LED lighting

The Chromalux 318, 389, 427, 428, 433, and 434 lines are illuminated with LED arrays for significant performance and cost benefits. Retrofit and new installation are simple because all required power-conditioning and dimming circuitry are included in the unit. No modification to aircraft power or wiring is required.

  • Life-of-the-Aircraft Longevity: LED illumination has a life of 100,000 hours versus 1,000 hours for incandescent.

  • Lower Maintenance Cost: By eliminating lamps and lamp replacement, there are ongoing savings in avoided inventory, labor, and lamp-failure AOGs.

  • Improved Legend Uniformity: LED arrays provide more light sources than incandescent lamps. Color and brightness are more uniform.

  • Reduced Power Consumption and Surface Temperature: LEDs reduce power consumption by as much as 50 percent and substantially lower the touch temperature of the display face.
Poke-Home Mounting

For solder-free installation, selected Chromalux product lines are available with a poke-home connector that snaps into the back of a sleeve. The unit plugs into the sleeve, and pins crimped to the leads lock into the back of the connector. Simple poke-home as well as LRU options are available, depending on the product line.

  • Simple poke home uses a single sleeve and requires access to the back of the mounting panel to replace a unit (available for Chromalux 389, 427, and 428 switches and 434 indicator).

  • Poke home with LRU capability features special sleeve configurations so switches become line replaceable units (LRU), replaceable without removing the mounting panel. Available for Chromalux 427, 428, and 433 switches.
Matrices

KORRY Chromalux switches and indicators are available mounted in matrices of any geometry. When replacement of individual bases is not critical, they can be bolted or welded together. For a matrix of line replaceable units, we use products that have an LRU sleeve and poke-home connector system (Chromalux 427/428 and 433) and build a framework to hold the bases.

Control Panel Assemblies with Chromalux switches

We also offer KORRY control panel assemblies, also referred to
as line replaceable units (LRUs), switch panel assemblies, or
lightplate assemblies. These units typically comprise Chromalux
switches and various other discrete components assembled
with a lightplate.
