Tim Budden
President

Tim Budden heads the largest and most experienced safety-critical software engineering services company in the country. Under his leadership, Esterline AVISTA delivers the best software development and systems engineering services to leading organizations in aerospace, defense and medical technology. He was most recently the company's vice president of engineering, with primary responsibility for leadership of development programs requiring safety-critical certification under DO-178B, DO-254 and FDA 510(k) guidelines. He joined the company in 1990 after working for McDonnell Douglas. Tim has a Bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Notre Dame. On off hours, Tim enjoys outdoor activities with his family including camping, boating, and biking. He also coaches his son's baseball team.

Mitch Iverson
Vice President of Engineering

Mitch Iverson leads Esterline AVISTA's engineering effort that ensures technical excellence for all client projects. With more than 20 years of experience, he is a recognized industry expert on project management and safety-critical software development leadership. Mitch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a Master of Science degree in project management from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. He is also a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. Besides getting out in the woods with their camper whenever possible, Mitch and his wife are avid canoeists and started what is now an annual canoe event at AVISTA.

Thomas M. Bragg
Vice President of Operations / Facility Security Officer

Tom Bragg oversees Esterline AVISTA's quality assurance, security, sales and marketing operations, as well as managing the finance, HR, IT, and contracts functions. Starting his career at Allied Signal's Garrett Engine Division (now Honeywell), he has nearly 20 years of experience driving engineering and management process improvement in aerospace and manufacturing. Tom holds a Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Dubuque. When Tom isn't working, he likely can be found on the Mississippi River fishing for trophy catfish.

Terri Chyko
Human Resources Manager

With more than 10 years of experience, Terri Chyko is responsible for all phases of Esterline AVISTA's personnel activities. People are core to providing the best software engineering services in the industry. She oversees everything from personnel administration to employee relations in the company's distributed offices. Terri has achieved the Professional Human Resources certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute. When Terri is not managing the HR department, she and her husband can be found riding their Harley on the open roads of southwest Wisconsin.

Jim Paquette
Programs Manager

Jim Paquette has diverse experience in managing avionics, industrial and medical electronics software development projects. He has an exceptional strong track record with helping Esterline AVISTA's medical industry clients certify their products on schedule and within budget. He also manages all AVISTA's test equipment projects. Jim received a degree in business from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. Jim is known for his bass and musky fishing; some might consider Jim AVISTA's very own fishing guide.

Scott Derby
Programs Manager

During his more than fifteen years leading full life-cycle avionics software projects, Scott Derby has worked closely with various aerospace companies, certification authorities and end users. He played a driving role in the development of Esterline AVISTA's quality management system and continuous process improvement activities, including SEI CMMI Level 5 certification. A certified Project Management Professional, Scott is also an industry speaker on process improvement and project management. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. When not managing projects, he is an avid sportsman, enjoying deer hunting, turkey hunting, and fishing for bass and musky.

Linda Winger

Expertise: Linda Winger brings more than 20 years of experience in full-lifecycle software development to Esterline AVISTA. Her background includes extensive project management and professional services delivery in demanding, globally distributed environments. Prior to joining the company, she led complex projects and large software development teams as worldwide vice president of professional services at Esker, a European-based software consulting company. Linda is a certified Project Management Professional and holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In off hours, Linda practices her Black Belt in Karate.

Scott Yaunches
Programs Manager

With more than 20 years of experience in software project management, Scott Yaunches is the newest programs manager to join the AVISTA services team. His background includes international project management and leading programs for commercial, defense and medical clients. His past experience includes software development and project management roles with Cisco, Trust Digital, NexTone Communication and LCC International. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®). Scott has a Bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University, and he also studied at the University of Chernovsi in Ukraine and the University of Zagreb in Croatia. Scott is an avid swimmer and recently completed a 4.4 mile swim across Chesapeake Bay

Duane Anderson
Programs Manager

Duane Anderson brings 30 years of experience in software and test engineering to the AVISTA team. His experience includes more than 25 years at Honeywell, including leading global software development teams to successfully deliver products for leading aerospace programs. As a Six Sigma Black Belt and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Assessor, Duane has led multiple formal and informal process improvement efforts saving money and accelerating time-to-market. He started his career with Cray Research as a manufacturing test engineer. Duane holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Dakota State University. He also manages a 130 acre farm in Minnesota with his family.

Mark Kelley
Software Engineering Manager

Mark Kelley brings more than 20 years in software engineering and safety-critical software development. He currently leads the research and implementation of innovative technologies, manages the implementation of and assesses adherence to engineering-related processes, and allocates the right engineering staff to meet project needs in order to give clients the maximum benefit. He is also an industry lecturer in process improvement and helped Esterline AVISTA achieve SEI CMMI Level 5 certification. Mark has a Bachelor's degree in computer science from Loras College. When not managing software projects, Mark referees basketball and football at the high school varsity level.

Neng Xiong
Quality Assurance Manager

Expertise: Software quality is core to Esterline AVISTA's business and Neng Xiong leads the company's formal SQA program. As a Certified Quality Auditor, he brings more than 15 years of experience in safety-critical software development and providing superior software quality assurance. Neng was instrumental in the company's ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2003 and ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2011. He maintains ISO quality standards compliance by serving as management representative.

John Christenson
Business Development Manager

John Christenson brings hands on software engineering experience to bear in helping Esterline AVISTA's clients plan and optimize their outsourced software development projects. With more than 20 years in software engineering, he has worked in software design, development and project management. Prior to joining the company, he spent ten years with Rockwell Automation, and worked in software design and project management roles with various consumer companies. John holds a Bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. When not in the office, John is a “hockey dad” to his daughter, who is entering her seventh season of playing hockey, this year as a member of the Madison Capitals AAA girl’s hockey team.
