Esterline continues long-term support of F-16 Fighting Falcon with its Korry cockpit products

Esterline will supply distributor Triman Industries, Inc., with its Korry-branded press-to-test indicators for resale to the Defense Logistic Agency (DLA). The DLA is the combat logistics support agency for the US Department of Defense, and will be restocking its inventory with a multi-year supply of Korry indicators, which are critical components for master-caution assemblies in the F-16 cockpit.

Esterline showcases standard ADS-B legends for popular, fast-track version of Korry 389 5/8-inch cockpit switch at Paris Air Show, June 19-25, Hall 5 C250

Esterline will display its latest pilot interface products at the Paris Air Show. Featured among several of its brands will be a recently released selection of Korry 389 5/8-inch LED switches configured as annunciators for ADS-B global positioning system (GPS) transceivers. They will be available for fast delivery as part of the Korry Quick Switch program.

These quick-ship Korry ADS-B annunciators will be of particular interest to aircraft operators facing the ADS-B Out deadline of January 2020 mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Korry 389 switches are the OEM switch solution for most aerospace platforms. Under the FAA rule, ADS-B Out will be required for aircraft operating in Class A, B and C airspace, in certain Class E airspace at or above 10,000 feet and around busy airports identified in 14 CFR part 91, Appendix D.

Esterline will supply Korry switches and knobs to Rossell Techsys in support of the Boeing Company for the Apache AH-64E helicopter

Esterline has been awarded a five-year contract to supply its Korry-branded control devices to Rossell Techsys for final assembly into control panels for the Boeing AH-64E Apache military attack helicopter program. Based in Bangalore, India, Rossell Techsys is the Aerospace and Defence Division of Rossell India Limited. It is an AS-9100 and Boeing-certified build-to-print manufacturer that was named a 2015 Boeing Supplier of the Year award winner.

Previously, Esterline supplied Korry switches and control knobs to Boeing directly for these AH-64 panels, but as part of a Boeing initiative, the panels will now be built in India. The Korry parts, manufactured in Everett, Wash., will be shipped to Rossell Techsys, who in turn will deliver complete panel assemblies to Boeing's facility in Mesa, Ariz. for new production and remanufacture of AH-64E helicopters. In addition to the switches and knobs provided earlier, Esterline will now also deliver Korry 5/8-inch magnetic latch switches, which can be actuated, locked and released remotely from other control units in the cockpit.

The Korry 5/8-inch switch is the most popular of its kind, integrated into the majority of business aircraft flying today. Leading the way in cockpit lighting, the Korry dimmable LED illuminated switch was introduced more than fifteen years ago, offering increased readability in varying light conditions.

The Esterline Codis SV-126 smart display has been selected by the US Army PEO Missiles and Space, Cruise Missile Defense Systems, working with The Boeing Company, for the turret gunner position on the AN/TWQ-1 Avenger Air Defense System. The Codis SV-126 display replaces a legacy computing environment that has reached its end of life and allows for greater flexibility in managing technical refresh cycles of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products.

The SV-126 unit is a 10-inch rugged XGA (1024x768) LED-backlight display with COM Express architecture and Intel mobile multi-core CPUs that enable easy updates to the latest processors. It delivers the graphics and processing power of a rugged computer for high-performance visualization in a compact footprint.

Aviall awarded expanded distribution agreement for Esterline Korry, Mason, and Janco product lines

Aviall, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has entered into an expanded agreement with Esterline Corporation to market and distribute the Korry, Mason, and Janco product lines.

The agreement expands Aviall’s product support to include all airline products in the Esterline Control & Communication Systems catalog — approximately 5,000 part numbers — and includes products such as flight controls, flight deck panels, and rotary switches.

AS9100

CMMI

Esterline AVISTA engineering services certified to AS9100 and appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 3

Esterline's AVISTA engineering-services group was recently certified as AS9100 compliant. This certification was performed at the Esterline Platteville facility, and the Cedar Rapids and Roseville offices leverage the same certified processes.

The AVISTA group has also successfully achieved a CMMI Level 3 rating. This appraisal occurs every three years, and results are currently in the standard review by the CMMI Institute. This appraisal was performed in accordance with Standard CMMI Appraisal Methodology for Process Improvement, specifically against CMMI for Development v1.3 and Maturity Level 3.
