Eclipse Electronic Systems Products

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Eclipse Electronic Systems, Inc. designs and manufactures dependable and high performance Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products. These COTS products include receiver tuners, digital encoding, and digital processing modules that are embedded into subsystems and systems by our Commercial Users and/or Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) clients. The hardware technologies provided by Eclipse products provide instrumentation-grade parametric measurements necessary for the prosecution of modern signal types, in addition to the normal legacy signal types. Key features of these products include low phase noise, high spur-free dynamic range, fast tuning, and very compact Size, Weight, and Power (SWAP) required for suitcase, airborne, mobile ground, and other small platform applications. Eclipse products can be grouped into three categories:

  1. Receiver Modules that convert signals from an antenna input into digitally encoded and processed formats.

  2. Ancillary modules that support the receivers in systems. Some examples are RF Distributions, DF Commutators, Time/Frequency References, and Hardware Chassis.

  3. Subsystem level Hardware Suites that integrate receiver modules, hardware controllers and processors, Time/Frequency references, and chassis (including power supplies, subsystem level RF/control/data interfaces, and cooling). Note that application software is not provided in these hardware suites as this is reserved by our clients as their "value added" contribution to their products in order to meet their unique mission and operational needs. Eclipse adheres to open standards in the hardware to allow full compatibility with other vendor products and application software packages.

REF1002 GPS TIME-FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION

The REF1002 VMEbus card provides a GPS C/A code disciplined, precision 10 MHz frequency, and 1 PPS Time reference. The REF1000 consists of a single 6U–160 VME64x circuit card assembly, containing one daughter module, the GPS receiver assembly.

The onboard 10 MHz oscillator uses a precision SC cut, ovenized crystal. This oscillator is phase locked to the worldwide GPS signal, combining both the long term frequency accuracy of the GPS disciplined Cesium and Rubidium atomic references, with the superior short term stability of a SC rotated, ovenized 10 MHz crystal.

RFD1002-3 RF Distribution and GPS Time-Frequency Reference

The RFD1002-3 VMEbus card provides RF Distribution function with 3 RF inputs (normally Omni, Sine, and Cosine antenna beams) in the 20-1000 MHz frequency range that can be commutated against a reference antenna input in that range and 3 RF inputs in the 500-3000 MHz frequency range that can commutated against a reference antenna input in that range. The Commutated/ Reference channel pairs are made available to two sets of receiver channels (coherent) for DF subsystems support. In addition to the RF distribution functions, all time and frequency reference functions described for the REF1002 are also provided.

RFD3004 RF DISTRIBUTION UNIT

The RFD3004 6U VMEbus card provides a compact, selectively band limited RF Distribution function that can be used with a variety of Eclipse COTS VME tuners. The RFD3004 consists of a single 6U-160 VME64x motherboard assembly with an RF distribution daughter module.

The RFD3004 covers the 1 MHz to 3000 MHz frequency range with one dedicated HF path, four VHF/UHF band-limited inputs, and three outputs that can select any of the four VHF/UHF inputs. Each path is filtered and amplified with high dynamic range amplifiers before being provided to the outputs.

Additionally, there is an external input that can be selected by each of the four outputs for calibration and BIT purposes.

RFD3008 DF ANTENNA COMMUTATOR

The RFD3008 is a10.0x 5.5x 1.5 inch module that is powered and controlled by the receiver chassis in a system configuration. The unit features 14 antenna inputs in the 20-1000 MHz range that are commutated against two reference antenna inputs in this range and 7 antenna inputs in the 500-3000 MHz range that are commutated against a UHF reference antenna input. The commutated reference coherent pairs are output to two receiver inputs in support of DF subsystem functions. All commutated timing and data set collection are time tagged and deterministic to reduce downstream algorithm processing issues.

The 3.6 pound unit may be mounted up to 25 feet from the receiver chassis.
