Overview
The Dual Sided CobraPlus is a simple addition to the standard Cobra, with the second earpiece being connected using a simple hardwired connection to a radio system.
It works with the radios being used to manage the audio paths to deliver communications effectively, allowing either split ear or mixed audio from the connected radio sources.
The CobraPlus comprises 2 earpieces of the same impedance earphones for left and right side and a single microphone on a boom arm, normally connected to the left hand earpiece. However, reversible Cobra’s can be “turned around” to provide a right sided microphone configuration.
The new dual sided CobraPlus is available terminated in a selection of designated customer connectors to suit their radio type. The CobraPlus will be available in either a dynamic version (2 x 300 ohm earpieces and a 300 ohm dynamic microphone) or an electret version (2 x 100 ohm earpieces and an electret microphone).
Other variants are possible.The CobraPlus uses the standard headset, all existing variants can be used in the single sided ear platform configuration.

Dual channel communications – the CobraPlus enables clear, binaural communications from two radio sources or from two channels on one radio. Having a channel in each ear improves intelligibility and allows the easy distinction of communications from different audio sources.

Low profile – combines easily with a circumaural headset or ear defenders to fit under a helmet. A circumaural headset or ear defenders locate on the users’ ears normally, without requiring an additional locating ring. This makes the CobraPlus ideal for use with personal radio applications for the dismounted soldier whilst in a vehicle.

Easy to fit and remove headset – only a few seconds are required to assemble and take apart the CobraPlus configuration when changing roles. The ear platform moulding shows the orientation for the headset which makes it quick and easy to use while the headstrap and helmet clips have the simple Cobra clip mounting to provide rapid reconfiguration.

One headstrap for both sides – versatile and convenient, the single headtrap supports simple connection to both sides. The dual ear platform has one reversible platform for both sides that uses the same closed cap. Helmet clips are provided as a pair, one for each side of the helmet.

Lightweight, comfortable and unobtrusive – the CobraPlus is exceptionally light weight and low profile, whichever way it is mounted. Very little weight and bulk on the head contributes to improved comfort and mission effectiveness.

All accessories are low cost and easily replaceable should they ever get damaged.

Easy to maintain – the ear platform, headstrap and helmet clips are made of rubber or plastic so can be wiped clean or washed when dirty.
