Fixed wing aircraft are deployed in many operational scenarios, including the transport of infantry and provisions, resulting in the need to accommodate two different communication objectives.

Firstly, to reduce the constant background noise, aircrews need ANR headsets that remain comfortable over extended periods but do not compromise clear communication.

The second consideration is passengers who, although needing protection against background noise, may need to communicate while in the aircraft using personal role radios.
