The optical hybrids are APDs with a low noise amplifier, which are designed and manufactured with the most suitable technology for applications such as:

  • Range finding
  • LIDAR
  • Laser radar and laser profiling
  • Free-space optical communication
  • Friend or foe identification
  • Security barrier

Units manufactured in accordance with MIL-PRF-38534 Class H and tested in accordance with MIL-STD-883

Standard off the shelf hybrids have the following features:

  • Custom bandwidth (10-350 MHz)
  • Low k (0.17 to 0.22 for InGaAs APDs, 0.02 for Silicon APDs)
  • Quantum efficiency 84% at 1550 nm for InGaAs APDs
  • 50 ns typical overload recovery
  • NEP (25 deg. C)
  • Hermetically sealed in TO-8 packages
