The optical hybrids are APDs with a low noise amplifier, which are designed and manufactured with the most suitable technology for applications such as:
- Range finding
- LIDAR
- Laser radar and laser profiling
- Free-space optical communication
- Friend or foe identification
- Security barrier
Units manufactured in accordance with MIL-PRF-38534 Class H and tested in accordance with MIL-STD-883
Standard off the shelf hybrids have the following features:
- Custom bandwidth (10-350 MHz)
- Low k (0.17 to 0.22 for InGaAs APDs, 0.02 for Silicon APDs)
- Quantum efficiency 84% at 1550 nm for InGaAs APDs
- 50 ns typical overload recovery
- NEP (25 deg. C)
- Hermetically sealed in TO-8 packages
