(National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) – October 9, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that Carlisle Interconnect Technologies of St. Augustine, Florida, has received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval by the Federal Aviation Administration to install CMC’s 10.4 inch Class 2 PilotView® Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) on the Boeing B737-600, -700, -700C, -800, -900 and -900ER Series aircraft.

The certification covers a dual PilotView EFB installation enabling paperless cockpit operations, including aircraft data, procedures manuals and interactive electronic charts.

“PilotView is the preferred EFB solution of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The system offers advanced crew applications, one-touch situational awareness and dependable avionics grade hardware,” explained Greg Yeldon, President, Esterline CMC Electronics.

CMC’s PilotView® EFB stays powered during all flight phases and is integrated with a number of aircraft systems, thereby improving application value for pilots, productivity and reducing workload. It features an LED-backlit display delivering enhanced readability in all ambient lighting conditions. The compact, self contained display-processor offers all of the latest processing capabilities available in the PilotView® product line.

The PilotView EFB system offers one-touch situational awareness and a best in class, film-on-glass touchscreen for superior readability. Certified for Class 2 and Class 3 usage, PilotView is the electronic flight bag preferred by OEMs. In addition, over 25 STCs are available for the PilotView EFB on aircraft ranging from the Gulfstream GlV/GV, the Bombardier Challenger and Global Express/XRS, to the Boeing 737. PilotView is offered as a standard option by Dassault and ATR, by Embraer for the Legacy 600/650 and E-170/190 programs, by Bombardier for the CRJ700/900/1000, and by Boeing for the Next-Generation B-737s and BBJs.
