(National Business Aviation Association Conference and Exhibition – Oct. 18, 2010) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its second-generation SureSight® CMA-2600 I-Series™ Integrated Sensor System is now approved for use as an Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) for landing credits on the Dassault Falcon 7X by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This follows the EFVS approvals received by Dassault Aviation for the CMA-2600 Sensor System on the Falcon 2000 and 900 EASy Series aircraft.

(Farnborough International Air Show – July 19, 2010) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) has signed a contract with Patria Aviation Oy, Finland, to provide service support for the fleet of upgraded BAE Systems Hawk advanced jet trainers for the Finnish Air Force. The Finnish Air Force purchased 18 ex-Swiss Air Force Hawk Mk66 aircraft in 2007 to add to their fleet of Hawk Mk51s.

(Farnborough International Air Show – July 19, 2010) The Finnish Air Force has recently conducted successful air-to-air firing trials with an upgraded Hawk Mk51 advanced jet trainer. The Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) glass cockpit upgrade of the Hawk Mk51 includes computed weapon aiming solutions displayed on the CMC SparrowHawk Head-Up Display (HUD). The trials were flown over the Baltic in February 2010 using the Hawk’s centerline mounted 30mm ADEN cannon pod against a series of towed and instrumented targets. Patria Aviation Oy and CMC personnel supported the trials.

(Farnborough International Air Show – July 19, 2010) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its multi-channel SwiftBroadband compliant Satellite Communications (Satcom) High Gain Antenna System was certified in late June 2010 on the Spanish Air Force’s A310 aircraft along with Rockwell Collins Satcom avionics. The project has been led by Iberia Maintenance, the Spanish Air Force and the Spanish Government. The EASA certification was developed by EAD Aerospace of Toulouse, France. CMC is supplying its new-generation CMA-2102SB antenna as an upgrade to its CMA-2102 antenna that was onboard the A310s.

(Farnborough International Airshow – July 19, 2010) Esterline CMC Electronics’ new CMA-1410 Class 2 PilotView® Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) has been selected by Boeing for its B747-8 Onboard Network Access Terminal (ONAT) system. The 10.4 inch device will be used as a display terminal in the B747-8 cockpit, enabling maintenance personnel and crew to access aircraft systems from one central location and relay data where required. Boeing has already chosen the PilotView CMA-1410 for its B737NGs and BBJs as a Class 2 EFB system, which is available on both production airplanes and for retrofit.
