Esterline CMC Electronics’ Third-Generation SureSight® Enhanced Vision System Achieves Certification

First Hawk Mk66 Trainer with Esterline CMC Electronics Cockpit Delivered to the Finnish Air Force

(Montreal, Canada – November 23, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that the handover of the first three Hawk Mk66 advanced trainers equipped with CMC’s glass cockpit upgrade to the Finnish Air force took place at Kauhava Air Base on November 17, 2011. CMC was selected by Patria, Finland, to perform a glass cockpit upgrade of the fleet of BAE Systems Hawk Mk66 advanced jet trainers for the Finnish Air Force. The Finnish Air Force purchased 18 ex-Swiss Air Force Hawk Mk66 aircraft in 2007 to add to their fleet of Hawk Mk51s.

Esterline CMC Electronics Receives 4-Star Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems

(Montreal, Canada – November 9, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its Hybrid Microelectronics business has been presented with a 4-Star Supplier Excellence Award by Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) at an annual award ceremony held in Los Angeles, California, in September. The award recognizes CMC’s ranking as one of the top six suppliers among Raytheon SAS’s 4,000 suppliers.
Raytheon SAS presents 4-Star Awards to suppliers who have attained an overall quality, delivery and customer satisfaction rating of greater than 98%.

Esterline CMC Electronics’ PilotView® EFB Receives EASA Certification for Installation by RUAG on Embraer Aircraft

(National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) – October 9, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its Class 2 PilotView® Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) has been certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for installation by RUAG on the Embraer EMB-135BJ regional aircraft. The certification covers a dual PilotView EFB installation enabling paperless cockpit operations, including aircraft data, procedures manuals and interactive electronic charts. Embraer selected the PilotView EFB as a standard option for new aircraft production and for retrofits of in-service EMB-135BJ aircraft.

Esterline CMC Electronics’ Flight Management System Selected for Canadian Department of National Defence A310 Upgrade Program

(Montreal, Canada – September 7, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) has been selected by the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) to supply its latest generation Flight Management System (FMS) and high-performance Global Positioning System Wide Area Augmentation System (GPS WAAS) Sensor for the avionics upgrade of DND’s A310 fleet of five Multi-Role Transport and Tanker aircraft (MRTT). Known as the CMA-9000, CMC’s FMS will operate in both passenger, cargo, VIP and tanker configurations. Aveos is the contracting agent for DND, given their overall responsibility for maintenance and sustainment of the MRTT fleet.

Esterline CMC Electronics’ New 10.4 Inch Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag on Boeing B737NG Production Aircraft

(Montreal, Canada – August 3, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its 10.4 inch Class 2 PilotView® Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) will be installed by Boeing (Renton WA.) on the Next-Generation B-737 production aircraft that have been ordered by Ethiopian Airways. Boeing has received its first purchase order for a quantity of ten B737NG production aircraft from Ethiopian Airways. CMC’s Class 2 EFB system is now available on production and for retrofit of B737NG and BBJ aircraft.

Esterline CMC Electronics Achieves Milestone on Chilean Air Force C-130 Cockpit Avionics Upgrade Program

(Paris International Air Show – June 20, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that formal flight tests were completed and the first aircraft and spares were formally delivered to the Chilean Air Force (FACH) in April 2011 further to its selection of CMC in the fall of 2009 to provide the complete cockpit avionics systems upgrade of the FACH C-130 fleet. As prime contractor, CMC is responsible for delivery of the complete equipment suite including the supply of turnkey installation kits as well as all in-country activities including touch labour, training and support.

First Flight of Finnish Air Force Hawk Mk66 Trainer with Esterline CMC Electronics Cockpit Upgrade

(Paris Air Show – June 20, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that the first flight has taken place in early May of a Finnish Air Force Hawk Mk66 advanced trainer equipped with CMC’s glass cockpit upgrade. Esterline CMC Electronics’ Flight Management System Receives Certification on Sukhoi Superjet 100

(Paris International Air Show – June 20, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its Flight Management System (FMS), known as the CMA-9000, has been CAN-TSO certified by Transport Canada with fully coupled vertical navigation (VNAV) capability for the Sukhoi Superjet 100. The Superjet 100 is equipped with dual installation CMA-9000 FMSs providing multi-sensor based navigation and enhanced operational capability.

Esterline CMC Electronics TacView® Portable Mission Display Selected for U.S. Air National Guard RTIC Program C-130H Aircraft

(Paris International Air Show – June 20, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by Northrop Grumman Corporation to supply its TacView® Portable Mission Display for the U.S. Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Real Time Information in the Cockpit (RTIC) Program. The contract covers dual installations of the TacView system on board a total of thirty-two C-130H aircraft. Deliveries began in mid-June 2011 and will be completed by October 2011.

As a stand-alone ILS look-alike solution that smoothly integrates with existing navigation instrumentation, the installation of dual CMA-5024 Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) GPS Receivers in conjunction with dual CMA-5025 Control Panels provides a highly economic approach to retrofitting aircraft with LPV capability.

Esterline CMC Electronics’ SureSight® Enhanced Vision System Achieves Certification on Dassault Falcon 7X

(Montreal, Canada – Feb. 22, 2011) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is pleased to announce that its second-generation SureSight® CMA-2600 I-Series™ Integrated Sensor System is now approved for use as an Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) on the Dassault Falcon 7X. This approval was granted recently by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and follows the certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the lead certification authority, received in July 2010. With these approvals, F7X operators can now take advantage of expanded operational credits afforded to aircraft equipped with an EFVS.
