Successful Flight Trial Confirm Performance of CMC Electronics' Infrared Enhanced Vision System

(Montréal, September 17, 2001) Following the initial flight trials and fog tests it conducted in 2000, CMC Electronics has successfully completed a further series of developmental flight trials of its Infrared Enhanced Vision System (IR-EVS) in July 2001. CMC Electronics conducted over 30 approaches and ground movement operations in weather that included 1/4-mile visibility and a 300-foot ceiling, fog, rain, mist and haze, in both day- and night-time operations. These trials have proven the effectiveness of the company's dual-band IR sensor in seeing the runway, the approach and runway lights, the runway surface markings and vehicles on the ground, in a variety of weather conditions. The company is now moving into the product completion stage of its IR sensor development program.

CMC Electronics Awarded Further Contract Options Valued at More Than US$9M for High-Capacity Line-of-sight radio by U.S. Army

(Montréal, September 17, 2001) CMC Electronics has been awarded contract options valued at more than US$9 million by the U.S. Army, under contract DAAB07-98-C-F505. These contract options are for the continued supply of AN/TRC-190 communications shelter upgrades, which include CMC Electronics’ latest-generation High-Capacity Line-of-Sight (HCLOS) radio, the AN/GRC-245. The total value of this contract now exceeds US$40 million.

(Montréal, le 17 septembre 2001) CMC Électronique a obtenu de l'Armée américaine des options de contrat additionnelles évaluées à plus de 9 millions $ US dans le cadre du contrat DAAB07-98-C-F505. Ces options de contrat portent sur la fourniture d'abris de communications AN/TRC-190 additionnels, comprenant la toute dernière radio en visibilité directe à grande capacité (HCLOS), l'AN/GRC-245, de CMC Électronique. La valeur totale du contrat dépasse actuellement 40 millions $ US.

Des essais en vol réussis confirment le rendement du système de vision améliorée à infrarouge de CMC Électronique

(Montréal, le 17 septembre 2001) Suite aux premiers essais menés en vol et dans des conditions de brouillard en 2000, CMC Électronique a complété avec succès, en juillet 2001, une autre série d'essais en vol dans le cadre du développement de son système de vision améliorée à infrarouge (IR-EVS). CMC Électronique a mené plus de 30 approches et opérations de mouvement au sol dans diverses conditions atmosphériques, incluant la visibilité à 1/4 de mille et un plafond nuageux à 300 pieds, le brouillard, la pluie, la brume et la bruine, durant le jour et la nuit. Ces essais ont prouvé l'efficacité du capteur infrarouge à double bande de la Société pour voir la piste d'atterrissage, les feux d'approche et de piste, les marques de piste et les véhicules au sol dans diverses conditions atmosphériques. La Société passe maintenant au stade d'achèvement du produit de son programme de développement de capteur à infrarouge.
