Gérard Rovira, Director Sales & Operations for Esterline Sensors Services, welcomed H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates Airlines, to the Esterline Sensors Services stand and took the opportunity to explain about the organization’s parent company Esterline, a leading world-wide supplier to the aerospace and defense industry specialized in three core areas: Avionics & Controls, Sensors & Systems, and Advanced Materials, with a turnover of $1,718 million in FY 2011 and about 12,000 employees world-wide.
Esterline Advanced Sensors (operating within the Sensors & Systems business segment for Esterline) is dedicated to serving the needs of its customers and achieving market and technology leadership within its niche, by developing and manufacturing a large range of sensors (mainly temperature, pressure, speed and massflow sensors) that cover the spectrum of aero-engine, aero-equipment and airframe applications, as well as industrial and marine derivatives.
For the global aftermarket, our FAA and EASA approved repair shops and check and test facilities are located in the U.S., France and Singapore. We have agents in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and South America, providing a global team committed to satisfying our customer’s needs.
The MRO Dubai show is an important way to show our commitment and support to an essential region where we are currently supporting locally based airlines and MRO shops including the Emirates fleet of Boeing B777, Airbus A330, and A340. We also indirectly support the A380 where we have more than 125 pressure sensors per aircraft.
Our local support is provided working in partnership with Abu Dhabi based Al Rumaithy Est where we hold a spare parts inventory.
As we look to grow our Aftermarket business, Emirates is currently receiving 1 new aircraft delivery per week and once all aircraft currently on order have been delivered, Emirates will have over 300 in its fleet.
