Largest on-the-water Holiday Light Show
More than 1.5 million lights will sparkle across Lake Coeur d'Alene as the Holiday Light Show, comes to life each evening during the holiday season.
Everything kicks off with the Holiday Light Show Parade and Lighting Ceremony, complete with fireworks, held the day after Thanksgiving. The light show continues each night until the end of December. During that time, you can also enjoy the "Journey to the North Pole" cruise across Lake Coeur d'Alene. This is a magical trip across the water to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the North Pole workshop, with snow showers guaranteed every night!
Highlighting the 2009 Holiday Light Show is The World's Tallest Living Christmas Tree (161 feet) on display at the North Pole! Laden with over 30,000 sparkling LED lights all twinkling in time to the music of Jingle Bells. This tree is more than twice the height of New York City's famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.

OLED
 Organic light emitting diodes have been receiving a lot of attention as a new display technology. OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. The "organic" in OLED refers to organic material. Carbon is the basis of all organic matter. The "LED" stands for "Light Emitting Diode" and describes the process of converting electric energy into light.
OLEDs have many advantages over conventional display technologies. First, the fabrication process is easy, and devices are thinner and lighter than those fabricated by cathode ray tube (CRT) display technology. Second, there are advantages over liquid crystal (LCD) displays: OLEDS can be viewed from different angles and don't need a backlight. Finally, the drive voltage and power consumption are low.
What's so great about OLED?
A significant advantage of OLED displays over traditional liquid crystal displays (LCDs) is that OLEDs do not require  a backlight to function. Thus, they can display true black color, wide viewing angles, exceptional color reproduction, outstanding contract levels, and high brightness. Additionally, OLEDs draw far less power, and the nature of its technology lends itself to extremely thin and lightweight designs.

| Medical-X-Ray; Cardio Vascular
 Challenge: Re-design an existing FDA approved product to improve the performance of the
joystick assembly and reduce overall cost, without changing any cosmetics, look or feel
of the controls.
Technology: Mid-travel plastic key over mechanical switch.
Solution: Changed the design of the joystick from high tolerance machined parts to a combination of high tolerance injection molded parts and stamped metal parts. Converted electronic design from a complex multi-use circuit assembly to a solution tailored to this specific product.
Innovation: Increased analog joystick life more than 10 times. Decreased part count and complexity of electrical assembly.

Advanced Input Systems has a NEW Tagline
In April this year the Marketing Department decided that it was time to retire our long in tooth tag line "we build the input devices that control the OEM products that operate the world."
So we challenged our employees to come up with a new tagline that defined the essence of Advanced Input Systems. What a contest - we received over 166 different ideas for our new tag line. As to be expected there were numerous entries which included the words "Advanced", "Connecting", "Controlling", "Custom", "Input" and "Touch". The winner is:

COEUR D ALENE, ID (North Idaho Business Journal - August 27, 2009) The building occupied by Advanced Input Systems on Wilbur Avenue is being expanded by 54,000 square feet, creating additional production capacity and office space in anticipation of future growth. The addition will bring the total square footage to roughly 139,000.
