Challange:
Keys had to have a “heavy” feel to prevent inadvertent closure due to use in a harsh environment.

Solution:
Exact specification of force and travel versus switch life were created to meet the customer’s requirements.

Application:
Mobile trucking GPS - in-automobile data collection and tracking system.

Innovations:
Creation of the right feel. Flood-lit backlighting reduced the number of LED's to light the keypad. Light was piped to indicators away from the PCB.
