Military communication specialist Esterline Racal Acoustics, is set to launch its new Passive Raptor Headset, a new addition to the RA5000 Raptor family, at this years Defence Systems & Equipment International Exhibition (DSEi) in London. The Passive Raptor headset, a binaural capable circum aural headset, provides clearly intelligible communications and effective hearing protection in a wide range of low to medium noise military environments. The headset design provides greater user comfort and passive hearing protection helping to reduce noise induced fatigue. The Passive Raptor provides effective attenuation of continuous low to medium level noise, such as wheeled vehicles, and battlefield impulse noises such as weapon discharges and explosive detonations. With separate left and right earphone connections, the headset is easily interfaced to single or dual channel radio and intercom systems. The integral dynamic noise cancelling boom microphone provides clearer speech, and can be easily moved from the left to the right earshell in the field. Raptors’ special low profile ear shell design ensures compatibility with all common ballistic helmets, and the headset is compatible with personal protection equipment, body worn equipment and weapon systems, having been evaluated and proven via field trials. To complement the Passive Raptor headset, a wide range of compatible accessories are available to offer a wide range of connection and use options for military radios and intercoms. A Soft Helmet Liner option is available that provides the wearer bump protection for the head when travelling over rough terrain in vehicles. Building on the field proven success of the robust military grade RA5000 Raptor Headset product family, the Passive Raptor offering brings its performance levels, design flexibility and wearer comfort to a wider range of military applications. Rob Harrison, Product Manager, will be conducting live demonstrations of the Passive Raptor headset on the Esterline stand # 625. Please contact us if you are interested in securing a demonstration at DSEi.
