BELLEVUE, Wash., March 13, 2014 ― Esterline Corporation (NYSE:ESL www.esterline.com), a leading specialty manufacturer serving global aerospace and defense markets, today announced that in recognition of its top overall performance, the company’s Souriau product team, a member of Esterline Connection Technologies, received Airbus' 2013 Best Supplier Award in the category of electrical cables and components. The award was given during a ceremony held in Toulouse, France, on January 15, 2014. This is the sixth time in eight years that the Souriau team has won this award.
"We are extremely proud to receive this award for the sixth time," said Jean-Luc Gavelle, President of Esterline Connection Technologies. "It is the culmination of the daily commitment of all our teams to total quality and operational excellence and the constant quest at every Souriau site for continuous improvement and innovation."
In order to determine the award winner, Airbus assessed its suppliers against two criteria: their operational excellence program (i.e. logistics, number of returns, quality, etc.); and their strategic excellence proficiency, or how well the company strategy meshes with that of Airbus. The string of wins for Esterline’s Souriau team is the result of more than 15 years of effort and recognizes the group's implementation of three key strategic areas of development: competitiveness, quality of supply chain, and continuous improvement.
Recently, the company's efforts have resulted in other awards as well, such as the 2012 Supplier of the Year Award given in June 2013 by Labinal at the Paris Air Show and the Best Supplier Performance – QRQC Award presented by Safran in December 2013.
Esterline's recent acquisition of Sunbank connector accessories, with manufacturing locations in the U.S. and Mexico, will further strengthen the company’s interconnect capabilities. Esterline Connection Technologies now consists of Souriau and Sunbank products, providing customers with a comprehensive offering of connectors, accessories and conduits in several major market locations across the globe.
